I could successfully ssh into my machine yesterday with the exact same credentials i am using today.
This variable sounds like what i am looking for, but it is not. For example, i have a private key i created with ssh in cygwin (id_rsa). However, if i start something like top, the connection stays alive. The machine is running centos 6.3.
